Update 7/14/2026: This is the second time we've hired this company for a landscaping project. We needed to convert some river rock areas back to grass/sod and install new edging and pea gravel around our AC units and solar battery/utilities. Sara was our consultant - she was very thorough, took the time to listen to my concerns, and gave good ideas and options when I wasn't sure. Marco and his crew did a fantastic job, even better than what we imagined it would look like. Marco had great communication and kept me updated throughout the process especially when some materials had delays in shipping. The crew was very respectful of our home, kept things tidy after each work day, and cleaned everything up at the end. Aside from the initial walk through to finalize some details, I didn't feel the need to micromanage anything. They clearly knew the plan and executed it to the end. Thank you again for the wonderful work. We will definitely use you again in the future. ---- We moved into our new home and immediately experienced major drainage issues all around the house and yard because of how close the houses are built. I did my research and decided to go with this company because I felt that they would do a complete job (vs. hiring multiple companies to do individual projects). Our work included burying all our downspouts and extending them to the edge of the yard, regrading, sod installation, landscaping, and river jack installation. Kenesi was my main point person for scheduling and planning. He was always very courteous on the phone and in person, and took the time to explain the work and make suggestions. When he wasn't available to do our initial consultation, Marco came and communicated all our needs back to the team. Our schedule was a bit delayed because of rain, but Marco and his crew showed up on time each day and worked efficiently. After the first day when they had buried all our downspouts, we had heavy rain and I saw immediate results and improvements with the drainage around our house. I appreciated that he also checked in from time to time to make sure I was happy with the design of the new mulch bed and where the scrubs and japanese maple would be installed. We made a couple small changes during the project, but the team made sure everything still went smoothly. I am very happy with the work they do and will definitely have them come back for future projects.

We have enjoyed working with NoVA Landscaping from the outset of our project. Ibi first did a walk through and helped brainstorm some great ideas for what we wanted to do. The design process was seemless and we appreciated a good bit of back and forth about designs to get things right. When it came time for the project - the team did in four days what I don’t think I could do in 2 years - they were amazing from clean up to re-grading to plant placement and installation. So professional - on time (actually early) every day and worked solid through the day to bring out new yard to life. Would highly recommend.

We needed a retaining wall built to prevent soil erosion in our backyard. The team designed and installed a sturdy structure that blends well with the landscape. The project took about a week, and everything was completed on schedule. Compared to before, the yard feels much more stable and usable. It’s both functional and visually appealing.

We hired Northern Virginia Landscaping for a major backyard project that included a two-tier patio with retaining walls, an outdoor kitchen counter, native plantings, and the installation of a wood-fired pizza oven — which required a crane to place. They handled every aspect of the project excellently. Dave's design work really stood out and revealed a way to use the space in a way we couldn't come up with ourselves. They offered the option of permeable surfaces for the hardscaping, which we appreciated. Communication was great throughout the entire project — whenever we had questions, Ibi, Kenesi, and the team responded quickly and thoroughly. The finished result exceeded our expectations. We had a challenging drainage issue between neighboring properties and were not sure how to fix it without harming the landscape or nearby trees. Ibi took the time to carefully assess everything, including tree health, root systems, and long term drainage solutions, and came up with a plan that made sense. We followed his recommendations and the results have been excellent. The drainage issue is resolved and everything still looks great. We couldn’t be happier with our new driveway. From start to finish, the team was professional, reliable, and clearly knew what they were doing. The team was amazing and communicative. Our yard was a challenge due to being on a hill and having a huge tree removed months earlier that was dying. They made a new patio, a shed pad, new landscaping, a sprinkler system, and more. Definitely would use them again!

Absolutely thrilled with our new backyard by Northern Virginia Landscaping. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone looking to upgrade their outdoor spaces. We had a smaller concrete pad demolished and replaced with a larger paver patio that included lighting, steps, retaining wall, and landscaping. Additionally we had a gravel pad installed for outdoor storage and finally they graded and seeded the remaining yard. Through every phase of our project from initial visit, through design + cost estimating, and finally installation everyone we worked with was easy to communicate with, responsive, helpful, and thorough. Kenesi, Victor and their crew went above and beyond during installation to ensure we were happy with progress. The Northern Virginia Landscaping team does great work and has been an easy team to work with -- from scheduling a walk through of two projects - one straightforward, and the other a more complex one. The proposals came back promptly, and any questions asked were also handled quickly. Ibi also investigated the source of erosion that has been occuring and identified buried pipes from the downspots that were broken. The team doing a spring clean up and the installation of a small flagstone patio did a fantastic job, and left the area neat and clean! We highly recommend you talk to this quality contractor for your landscaping needs.
